November 21-26, 2007 Thanksgiving '07! |

Road Trip time! The time of the year is back when we load up the car with dogs, bikes, luggage, and this time a baby, to visit both families in the span of one long weekend! PS... my webhost has an embedded .flv player and converter now, so I used it a few times in this webpage. No more waiting around for the video to load, and clicking "back" to return to the page! Still working out the kinks, but it seems to work pretty well! If you see a floating movie where it shouldn't be, a "refresh" should get rid of it. Enjoy! |

First stop: Amy's mom's office, to show off the Little Dude to her coworkers.
Ooooh! Ahhhhh!
Oooooh! Ahhhh!
This is how we get it done... the Yakima Sky box. Laugh all you want, but this gives the two dogs all the room they could dream of in back.
In fact, check out all the stuff we crammed up there... and this isn't even all of it!
It's our tiny little RV.
Shari and Bailey get to see him late Wednesday night, coming over from Sue's in their PJ's to visit!
Awww, what's wrong Amy!
I miss my baby!
How cute is this!
Got him back!
It's just weird how well this works when he's fussy.
Clayton, making the famous All In One on Thursday morning.
Using the monitor for the first time!
Ahh, the convenience of a bottle once in a while.
Amy's brother and family are here! Trina holds the kiddo, and Alex cheeses for the camera.
Sammy's got the cheese, too.
Gettin' fixed up for company.
Attack of the pumpkin pie!
Attack of the chocolate mousse?
"Pssst... hey Dad, am I really supposed to be eating this?"
Earle with camera...
in action!
Lauren with a little dessert.
A little entertainment from Papa Clayton.
Mema and Amy rest a little after Thanksgiving dinner.
Are those Carolyn's tiny pecan pies there? Ok, maybe just one more...
The motorboat game.
Favorite of all kids.
Trudy works for a burp.
I had no idea that sign was there, really.
Alex tries for a burp!
The crowd watches...
who else? The Cowboys. Because the Sooners weren't on. They tell me that's called football.
The girls dig out the My Little Ponies.
Then it's time for...
Taboo!
What else was in the game closet? Simon!
Sammi gets it done. Click the player below to watch the video!

After a couple of pecan pies, Alex takes a turn. Just kidding... I think I ate those.
Bear, never starved for attention.
Not sure how he can sleep through all the commotion, but he can.
"It's all about the baby now."
"I'm so neglected!"
"What's that? Oh! The baby made a face!"
Bear did not love his new bow.
Meh.
Yay! Another face!
I think he knows when he's being cute now.
Katy didn't love the bow either, but it looked better on her.
High five... Turkey! Hahahaha!
Next we did some madlibs, and recorded the results. Click the player below for the video of the 12 days of Christmas one. (75mb)

Next one... the Job Application. Click the player below to see the movie!

Why you gots to be so glib... we's just doin' some crazy mad lib!
Boo!
Bear and Jackson have a staredown.
After a long day with no nap, Alex finally soothes Little Dude into some sleep.
And Bear goes cagematch on Jackson.
ZAP! We're in Joplin to visit my parents, with my sister and her family from Indianapolis!
Wheel bearing problem for them on the drive down, but no problem... Jeff's handy like that.
Erik, Robin and Jeff's youngest!
Dinner. I'm a big fan.
Dad and Erik. Man, that guy makes Kaiden look tiny!
Elaina enjoys catching... and eating... the little blue dots that camera flashes leave in her vision...
Kid swap. See what I mean?
10 lbs, 5 oz at birth. Kaiden took about 8 weeks to get there!
Cute!
Yeah, I don't know.
Comandeered camera.
What's a holiday visit without the traditional 47 games of the best game ever, WORMS?
Todd, with more hair on his chin than on his head.
Mutual scruffiness.
Dad says he's had the mustache for about 35 years. I've had mine about a year and a half, and it drives me crazy. I'm starting to think Abe Lincoln and the Amish had the right idea. Beard yes, 'stache no.
Pic of the previous two generations (for me anyway) of the Canon Elph. Todd's and Robin/Jeff's.
A little time with uncle Todd.
It always comes back to this position.
Ack! Implosion!
If camera flashes mess with little babies' development somehow, ours is screwed.
Snnnnxxxxxxx.
Check it out! Krista got home from work andlet us know that it's snowing outside! Yes, Todd got a tiny snowball in the face.
Which had nothing to do with him putting this blanket on his head.
Mmmm. Leftover pizza.

Here ya go Dad, the picture of the movie of Dick Rhuga.
Snnnnxxxxxxxx.
Quiet time.
What? Another Thanksgiving Dinner?? Well, ok!
Yay! I love it when my milk tastes like pumpkin pie!
It's Diaper Time.
Still sleepy!
Mmmm. Turkey!
Then back to Worms!
Elaina watches as Grandma B gives Kaiden some lunch.
Then Erik and Elaina get a story.
Bwaaaaaaaaaaaap!
Tummy time!
What's this? We talked Todd into bringing the Wii over from his place!
Krista's pumpkin.
Ate my camera.
Hey! Gimme my camera!
Elaina!
Krista!
Hypnotized Kaiden in an old swing!
Camera fun with Emilee and Krista.
Nice.
Pretty cool game. Definitely more active, and more fun for groups, than a regular video game.
Although Little Dude couldn't be less interested.
Dad breaks out the video camera!
Posing for the Thanksgiving Dinner photo with Uncle Gordon.
Ow.
This can't be good for us.
Erik and Jeff!
Krista again.
Ok, now we're just messing around with the camera at the table.
See? Danae and Krista in a trance.
Mmmm. Pie.
Wow! Kyle gets into some power bowling.
Dad gives it a shot too.
Two new grandsons this year!
Snnnnnnnxxxxxxxxx squared.
Then we found boxing. This game makes you sweat. I made it to skill level 8 hundred and something... just short of "pro" at 1000, before my game was over. I didn't have the energy to go on! It physically wore me out! Jeff went next, and looked about like me!
Oh, you won't be needing that long sleeve shirt.

Midnight feeding for the little guy.
See? Not bad for a video game.
Darn... electronic guy... won't... fall... down!
Breaktime.
Todd learned technique (i.e. what NOT to do) from watching us, and did well without all the huffing and sweating.
Working smarter, not harder.
Dodge left!
Dodge right!
Funny to watch.
Man, this just makes your heart melt, doesn't it?
Time for the Johnstons to head home. Jeff fills the water bottles for the trip.
Mom and Dad B with the Johnston kids.
Then a group shot... just missing Todd.
Man, Erik... those horizontal stripes... ;)
Elaina!
Happy as can be.
All loaded up in the van for the trip back to Indy! See you at Christmas, Johnstons!
One more baby picture of me.
The sheer number of diaper changes... I had no idea.
ZOOM! Over to Bill and Nikki's house to visit them and their boys, Mason and Gavin. And another diaper change.
Bill bought a new Gary Fisher Rig from Debbie at Bicycle Specialists after our ride during their visit to Dallas a couple weeks ago, so he and Todd and I braved the cold for a ride on the old stomping grounds... the Joplin trails!
There are never very many pictures of good trail riding. That's because the best/only time to pull the camera out are when something happens, like a flat tire.
Might as well adjust that squeaky brake while we're stopped...
Back on the trail! Click the player belowfor a video of Bill nearly cleaning the big V climb over by Newman/Florida.

And here's a video of Bill and Todd rolling out of the trail at St. Louis St.:

We were just commenting on how nice and clear the trails were of leaves, when we happened across Eric Davis, who had just raked them this morning! Thanks, Eric!
Mastering another hill.
Eric tries one of the most difficult hills out there... not this time! Trust me, the camera angle makes it look easier than it is.
Back in Broken Arrow for the night, Amy's college friend Christina and her daughter Corrine came over for a visit!
Kaiden's thankful for the visit, but just can't figure how to communicate it.
He'd been awake most of the day, and was overdue for some sleep.
And a bath. And some nose pickin'.
Finally! A smile!
Bath time helps a lot.
Gotta keep it PG.
Dry the booty!
Naked tummy time.
Naked butt!
"Party in my Crib. 2 a.m."
Grandma gets the job of putting you to sleep. Going...
going...
gone.
Hmmm... worked on Bear, too. Doesn't even drop his ball when he's asleep.
Katy.
"Man... I just wanna lick him... so... bad..."
Snnnnnxxxxxxxxxx.
